MOBIUS is a
software program that runs on a Windows
terminal (such as a laptop or tablet PC)
and
links to a DataGate IP router over
a choice of wireless networks including
satellite and terrestrial. MOBIUS, with its
real time wireless communications link, provides
two-way text messaging with the base office,
plus "on screen" GPS navigation with location data relayed to one or more
base computers.
Other
"on board" programs processing data such as field reports, freight manifests
etc can be sent as E-mail file attachments via Mobius.

DATA ROUTING OPTIONS
Mobius connects over the selected network to
a DataGate packet router. This can be located on the "end user's" computer
or hosted by
our resellers or Datalink Systems Inc. The following diagram shows operation
over Inmarsat using a BGAN terminal.
LONE FIELD WORKER (safety and communication)
Mobius and BGAN provides the field workers with
real-time two-way text
messaging and file transfers and also provides a high level of safety
which uses an "Fkey" to send an emergency message with GPS location. The
emergency alert will also be relayed by the DataGate
router to monitoring desks or text to Cell-Phones.
IN-CAB NAVIGATION
MOBIUS software provides drivers with live "on-screen"
navigation where the total route is displayed with the various stops/start
times
reported. The driver's screen receives GPS updates
every few seconds. The same GPS information can be displayed on the
Dispatcher's screen with updates based on programmed settings.
MULTI-NETWORK OPERATION (typical application)
Mobius allows the use of
multiple networks with automatic selection. As an example, if the
local wireless network service is lost
(GPRS or CDMA-1X) the Mobius will
switch automatically to Satellite if a satellite transceiver is attached.
Our back-end system is based on our well proven
DataGate.
DataGate connects to the various wireless networks selected to allow two-way
communications with the remote assets. DataGate also routes data to one or more
DataHosts
which are installed in the Dispatchers
workstations, allowing the
dispatchers to have two-way text messaging with the drivers and to track
locations on a digital Map.
